Cardinals began as a cheeky prank between two bored teens in a sleepy Irish fishing town, but somehow, they took the joke a bit too seriously. Now a six-piece band, they’ve swapped out the fishing nets for guitars, diving headfirst into Cork’s live music scene. Led by Euan Manning, who insists on mixing pop sensibilities with a dash of gothic shoegaze and a sprinkle of Irish trad folk, they’ve created a sound that’s as comforting as a warm pint of Guinness—and just as likely to leave you slightly disoriented.
